I didn’t see any of these in the baby books๐Ÿ˜‚

As Harley is now 3 months old , I find myself slightly more settled, feeling in control and back to myself. I can honestly say that no amount of reading in all the fabulous baby books with the cute babies on the front can prepare you for the constant but most rewarding emotional roller coaster journey you will ever experience!!

The baby books do not warn you of the worry and the craziness you posess after having a baby! The first time you are handed your bundle of joy you just stare at this little person! The midwife then tells you it’s time to feed oh s**t ! How ! What if ! They don’t fill you in on the hours you spend especially on the first night just staring at your beauty making sure they’re breathing and just in amazement at how perfect they are and that this baby actually came from you !

They don’t tell you to purchase a moisturiser for the dry skin that you develop after giving birth. (My face was so flakey my make up literally sat on my face it didn’t blend or look well๐Ÿ˜”) or a pair of knickers fit to restrain the saggy belly you have because my goodness your tummy is EMPTY ! You could put your fist through your stomach and touch your back ๐Ÿ˜‚!! A good bra ! to support those bad boys full of milk and to use cabbage leaves (they stink by the way๐Ÿ˜ท) & sit them in your bra and cool your swollen and hot boobs.

No baby book told me how my babies cry would break my heart ๐Ÿ’• or how many times a night I would hold my breath just to hear Harley breathe. Your not told that no matter how tired or how low you feel in the weeks after giving birth that your babies smile will light up your day ๐Ÿ”†. When you hold your baby so close and they fall asleep in your arms and the smell of their skin and you feel so connected to your child …… This is what makes you feel your doing something right that is the moment you know you are a doing your best. You question your choices so much you overthink every single decision but I now know it’s trial & error how can we learn with no mistakes ? How will we know what baby likes unless we try everything ?

Are we warned of our urge to shop ? Definitely not !!๐Ÿ˜‚ how every time I pass a shop I HAVE to buy that for Harley and let’s be honest do we care about the price ? NO because they’re just so adorable you have to see this outfit or shoes on them ๐Ÿ˜‚ .

I’m sure most of you mothers can relate to these situations and how the baby books do not prep you for emotions, shopping, crazy mammy moments, heartbreak and most importantly the love and fear you feel for these tiny little miracles๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
